Today's Service 4/21/13

Today's Service was Absolutely Powerful! God moved through our Pastor, Dr. Moses O. Pitt! The Message was "Beware of the Devour"! He told the congregation that the devil comes to steal the seed that is on the inside of us. Why? Because he knows that the maturity of the seed produces a Harvest! A harvest of the fruit of the Spirit that a Kingdom Christian Possess! In the production of this fruit we grow in the Power and knowledge of God! This maturity produces a Greater faith in God! The lack of faith however is unbelief! Dr. Pitt shared that there are 3 ways in which unbelief shows up in your life! 1. Ignorance; 2. Disbelief (wrong doctrine); and 3. Natural unbelief (trying to believe God based on what you see). We learned that we have Authority because we are Saved, and also that we are never without seed. The seed of the Word of God! So walk in Your God-given Authority! God says to us this day....Permission Granted!

Don't Stop Praying

"When trouble comes, we very quickly get on our knees and ask God for help.  It is then that we realize even the more that we are not self sufficient and that we need God" more than ever.  God is a jealous God and "nothing must come before him" (Pitt, 2008).  There are many times in our lives that we find it hard to trust God, however, we must realize the power of our prayers.  Communicating with God should never be neglected.  We should never forget about the one who gave us life and saved us from the hands of the enemy.  The more I pray and commune with Christ, the closer I am to him.

So never get too busy in your daily lives that you forget to have your moment with Him.  He deserves everything that you have to give.  Your heart, your soul, your TIME.  No matter how hard life gets, continue to seek God, continue to pray...

"Why the Cross?"

Almost everybody who follows Christ, and almost every gathering of those Christ-followers constituting a church, says the same thing:
“We want to reach the world for Christ.”
Yet most don’t.
So where’s the breakdown?
It’s not strategy. There are vast numbers of churches who are successfully penetrating the culture of the “nones,” growing through conversion growth, and who willingly offer their tried and true strategies to any and all who wish to learn.
It’s not theology. As mentioned, almost every Christian church would have evangelism as part of their core values and integral to their mission statement.
It’s not the new generation of leadership. Most young leaders got into the game to see a lost world won to Christ. They are sold out and ready to rock.
It’s not the new generation of Christians. If you want to meet an evangelistic animal, spend time with a new Believer. They are, in the best sense of the word, shameless with enthusiasm.
So what is the problem?
Jesus knew.
When challenged about His own missional emphasis toward those on the outside of faith, He responded: “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? Go figure out what the Scripture means: 'I'm after mercy, not religion.' I'm here to invite outsiders, not pamper insiders'" (Matthew 9:12-13, Msg).
The problem? Seemingly long-term “insiders.”
Countless numbers of leaders and members of churches have given in to a Christian consumerism. They embrace a mentality that gives ample rhetorical support to evangelistic intent but resists violently at the point of implementation because -- at the point of actually “doing” it -- it “costs” them.
In other words, scratch the surface of a sacrificial, pick-up-your-cross, to-die-is-gain, eat-my-flesh-and-drink-my-blood Christian…
…and you have an it’s-all-about-me, spiritually narcissistic, turned-inward, meet-my-needs, feed-me consumer.

The problem with outreach today is that the most basic and elemental issues related to building a relationship with someone apart from Christ;
...and then engaging in spiritual conversations;
...and then inviting them to an open and winsome and compelling “front door” so that they can come and see, come and hear, come and experience;
...is resisted by the very people who say they want those unchurched people to come and find Jesus.
Why? Because it would call for sacrifice or inconvenience of some kind. A leader would have to work harder, or invest in vision-casting and face potential opposition. Attenders would have to be part of a church that no longer exists solely to serve them, but to serve those who have yet to enter the doors.
Which means that evangelism is fine in theory, but not in practice, because in practice evangelism almost always involves death to self, the complete anti-consumer state of mind.

Why do you need to Believe? (continued)

Sunday' message (February 24, 2013)

Why do you need to Believe? (continued)

The message on belief is geared towards belief in Jesus Christ. Our Gospel message as preachers and teachers  is to always make Him (Jesus Christ) known in the earth!  So it is very important that we preach the Gospel!  It is the Power of God unto Salvation to him that Believeth.  The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith!

Reference Scripture - Mark 5:35  - While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, only believe.”
Jesus speaks to us in Matthew 5:17 – Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets, but I have come to fulfill the law! Verily I say unto you till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law until all be fulfilled!

We need to Understand that the entire bible is a portrait of Jesus Christ.  We have available to us instantaneously the wisdom of the ages, with books, CD’s, iPods, iPads, the world wide web, etc.  Many of us have the ability to  read, hear or view  the opinion of anyone who thinks they are of the intellect!   Intellect is a wonderful thing. You can understand biology, but if you don’t know the “Giver of Life’, you are still uneducated.  You can comprehend Geology, but if you don’t know the Rock of Ages, you don’t really know anything of importance!  You can know all about Botany which is the study of the flowers and the trees, but if you haven’t met the “Lilly of the valley’ your knowledge is useless.  You can  know all the facts of history, but if your reject  the “Center Figure of History,” your time has been wasted! A wise man that doesn’t know God is ignorant!  A strong man who doesn’t know God is weak, and a rich man that doesn’t know God is poor!

Only the Lord can fulfill all of our needs and answer all of our questions!  The bible says that Jesus came to fulfill all things and any question that you present to him!  Many situations arise in our life that the Works of God may be worked in our lives!  The word of God through Jesus Christ brings the promises of God into fulfillment!  You need to understand that your answer is already here and lives on the inside of you, but all you need is faith in God! You must believe!
The historical figure of Christ is the secret to understanding the bible!  Everywhere you look in scripture you can see the writer of each book pointing towards Christ!  In Luke 24:27, And beginning  with Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.  If people are going to come out of their dilemma then the message of the Gospel must point to Jesus Christ!  For He is the deliverer!  Just Believe!!!

Now concerning the text, (Mark 5:35)  Why do you need to believe?  Because God is here and has come to fulfill the destiny in your life.  The bible said, while Jesus was still speaking some came from the ruler of the Synagogue’s house.  Without even seeing his daughter being delivered yet, the spirit of God was waiting  and even though his daughter was dead the word was on its way to accomplish what God sent it to do!  Now the word (Jesus Christ) speaks words of Faith to the man, “Do not be afraid, Only Believe!”  Once he spoke the word, the man remembered what Jesus said and he believed and his daughter was healed!
Remember this, things are not as bad as they seem, only Believe!!  What you believe will control your actions!  Be it unto you, according to  your “Faith!!”

Why Do I Need to Believe?

Title:  Why do I need to believe?
Subtitle:  It's time for ur turn around.

John 4:46

John 10:10
-Christ came so that we can enjoy life! Have life in abundance.  Jesus has done his part now we must receive what he has in store for us.  We must believe and receive! Our faith means we have to "go" and get what we were meant to receive. Faith is the substance of things we hope for....evidence of things not seen. We receive by faith.

Romans 10:17
-If god said it, then just declare "it's mine & I receive it". No signs are needed.  The spirit of faith "creates"...

Hebrews 11:3

Romans 4:17-
keyword:  "calleth"

Hebrews 4:12
- When God speaks HIS words are alive and powerful.  We must believe and speak his word.

1 Corinthians 4:7-15
-We were perplexed but it's time for our turn around. We are never forsaken. Things will not remain the same.  Remember that your situation is only temporary. It's  time for your turn around. "BELIEVE" God for it...

Understanding Spiritual Authority (Leadership Class excerpt)

What you believe will control your actions
A principle of belief: you have to have faith in what you are believing.  Without hope, faith has nothing to work with.  It first starts in our mind.  If our minds are not clear, the devil will continue to get in your mind and your emotions.  We have to understand that Satan’s aim is to come and destroy us (steal, kill, and destroy).  He will use certain strategies and forms to deceive us.  It is an attempt to distract: an intrusion of the mind. Satan wants to change your mind about the word of God!

Study scriptures:
James 1:16
(Satan’s chief focus is to deceive us.)

Isaiah 5:13
(What God is saying is that they have become captive because they have shown no knowledge of the correct way to behave.  This is why we have to continue to pray and do the word. There has to be a corresponding action (faith without works is dead!).  Guard yourself from the attacks of Satan by remaining in your word and meditating (Philippians 4). )

Understand the spiritual authority of the word.  The potter of our lives shapes us and continues to make another vessel; I am so glad that we are never OUT of his hands. As preachers and pastors we need to understand that we cannot go into the word of God looking for a sermon to preach. We have to use the word as our daily bread; therefore we will be able to minister with conviction.

Once you become a Christian, there should be a change in you.  In order to be transformed, there has to be a renewing of our mind.  By keeping our minds clear, open, and ready to receive from Christ, there is nothing against us that will be able to prosper.

Abiding In God's Love

It is so easy to speak about Love, but when we have to display this Love we speak of, it seems rather difficult for many!   As it relates in the word of God, in I John 4:8 ~ He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  It even goes further to let us know in verse 9, In this the Love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might Live through Him!   As Christians, we are to live through in by Jesus Christ, so the love of God can be manifested in the earth.  But, could it be that we really don’t know God the way we say we know him? The character of God is to be displayed by Christians, who repeat His word, Live His Word, and Love according to His word!

A Fresh Start

The beginning of a new year can be very exciting.  For many reasons it represents a fresh start, a chance to heal, or an opportunity  to make things right.  Others may look forward to 2013 and wonder what adventures and possibilities it will bring.  I personally enjoy thinking about what God will teach me in the weeks and months to come and how I will grow closer to Him.

Of course, none of us know what the future will actually hold.  But there is one thing you and I can recognize as certain; we will be making decisions in the days ahead.  We are continually presented with choices in our families, jobs, finances, and even in our relationships with the Father.  The question we must ask ourselves if we want to make 2013 the very best year possible is:  Where does the Lord fit in the decisions we make?

Nothing Is Impossible to Them that Believe!

Many Christians are feeling the pressure of financial challenges.   Mounting financial lack on top of other problems can be overwhelming.  Despite what we may be experiencing, we must continue to believe God’s Word.  We cannot adopt a worldly mind-set, placing the world’s way of doing things above God and His Word.  He has the power to deliver us.  No matter how impossible the task, we must simply believe...
